More than fourteen hundred years before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the children of Israel had gathered together in the beautiful valley of Shechem, and on one side of the hill were the voices of priests proclaiming blessings and curses—"A blessing, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God: ... And a curse, if you don't obey. Deuteronomy 11:27-28. Thus, the mountain from which the word of blessing was spoken later became known as the Mountain of Blessing. But it was not in The Geriz Jim, where the words spoken became a blessing to a sinful and miserable world. Israel was unable to reach the measure of the great ideal set before it. Instead of Joshua, someone else should lead his people to the true rest of the faith. There is no longer a mountain of blessing in Girizjim, but the nameless hill beside Lake Ganeshareth, where Jesus spoke the words of blessing to his disciples and the crowd, became the mountain of blessing. A.U. 1.1

For a moment, let us imagine ourselves going into that scene and sitting on that mountain with the disciples and entering the thoughts and feelings that fill their hearts. If we begin to understand what Jesus means in the hearts of those who listen to him, we can discover the diversity and beauty of jesus, and we can learn the profound lessons they have learned. A.U. 1.2

When the Savior began his ministry, the popular perception of the Messiah and His work was completely incompatible with those who received Him. The true mind of devotion traditions and customs
